Volunteer of the Month September 2024

Introducing our new concept, volunteer of the month! Each month, we will be highlighting a volunteer that has gone the extra mile to make someone's day.

With that…meet Audrey!

"My name is Audrey Bjerke, I am 22 years old and I am currently getting my psychology degree specializing in child life. I have been fighting multiple severe chronic illnesses myself the last 8 years and that has fueled my fight to bring support to children and families who are experiencing the devastation of childhood illness and medical complexity. I have a deep understanding of what the children who will be receiving these cards are going through, and it is an honor to pass on that love and understanding. My heart is to break barriers and provide comfort and restoration to families wherever I can. My motivation behind volunteering for Create for Kids is exactly that! This organization has been a gift to be able to complete flexible volunteer hours from home. The cards pictured were all actually made while I was recovering from my own hospital stay, and they brought me so much joy to make.

Some other fun facts about me are that I love to write, sing, and let my creative side shine through different forms of art. I have an Etsy shop called Team Audrey Shop where some of my other cards are available!"

Audrey is truly an inspiration, and she serves as a perfect example of why you should impact your community.
